Harkopen.com is 1 year old

Our baby open source hardware community just turned 1 year old!

Founded by Craciun Constantin (known on the internet as madaerodog) on 1 january 2009 after a year of drupal tinkering and drawing board schematics Harkopen.com strived to offer the answers to the questions concerning open source hardware like : What is it?, When it is happening?, How do you do it?, Where do you do it? and How to help others do it?

It was a full year around here, we rolled out two site themes to better suit our users, we stayed up to date with the drupal updates (not an easy task :P ), we made a bunch of friends around the world, we got social with them on Twitter, Facebook, Delicious .

We found a lot of interesting projects around the web, the news kept flowing with what our Open source hardware Rockstars accomplished and what wonders of tech they built in their homes or hackerspaces, we promoted the little league too, the tinkerers (as we call them) that are the future of open hardware, we made a lot of friends that supply us with parts, tools and services that keep our techies doing the wonders that prove the world that open hardware has the power and momentum to gain on open source software that was proven to be a viable solution and important part of the age we are living in.

So we wish you a great 2010 with lots of projects realized and the recognition you deserve!
