RoboCup 2010 Singapore
On 9-25 june 2010 in Singapore at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre took place the 14th annual RoboCup International Symposium that was held in conjunction with RoboCup 2010.
In keeping with Singapore’s aim to promote intelligent systems as a new growth area for Singapore’s economy, RoboCup 2010 featured an exhibition comprising over 20 education institutions, SMEs and MNCs to showcase state-of-the-art and future trends in robotics and related technologies.
The line-up of symposium speakers included world-renowned robotics researchers, scientists and academics, including Professor Eric Grimson from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Professor Manuela M. Veloso from Carnegie Mellon University of USA, Professor Chong Tow Chong from the Singapore University of Technology and Design, and industry bigwigs from Germany, France and USA.
They shared scientific advances in areas such as computer vision for surgery and disease analysis, simulation and rescue robots as well as the all-important aspect of human-robot interaction that will deliver widespread benefits to mankind.
