OpenPicus
Italian project made to fill the gap between Embedded Low Cost and Wireless.
OpenPicus modules are based on the well known Microchip PIC 24F 16bit processor connected to a Wireless Transceiver. Wireless stack and your Applications are running on the PIC to give you full control of the Network and Low Power modes.
OpenPicus is competitive, not only for your prototypes. Let your ideas cross walls of your Lab to enter into the real Market!
Modules have a comfortable Male Pinheader connector (26 ways, pitch 2.54mm) and some "NESTS" (boards for a specific task, for ex.Temperature sensors) are available from http://www.openpicus.com or from their partners.
The project has a Social Aim too: they give FREE development kit for Students and Universities that want to develop their application on this platform sharing the code and results with the Community.
