Opposed piston, single cylinder, 49.5 cc two stroke engine
The mission of this project it to develope (initially) a compact, single cylinder, opposed piston, two stroke diesel engine. After the initial design has been established and a working prototype manufactured the goal would be to scale the engine up (125cc, 150cc, 225cc, 250cc etc) for use in larger projects/vehicles.
All technical data would be provided in government standard formats for simplicity. CAD data (3D models) would be provided in either STEP or IGES format, technical drawings and schematics would be in PDF format. CAM data (g-code) will be available and we hope to utilize "feed rate optimization" to hale reduce manufacturing time. Certain features would have to be "locked", such as mounting hole placement in order to maintain true cross platform/open source usability.
Here is a list of areas we current need help in:
- Choosing/modifying an open source license for the project
- Technical insight on engines (two stroke and diesel) - Partner/Expert
- CAD design (CATIA, SolidWorks, Pro/E, AutoDesk) - Partner/Expert
- Stress analysis - Partner/Expert
- CNC, CAM, G-code - Partner/Expert
